Micellar water has been all over Instagram, YouTube and other forms of media, and for good reason! This “water” has changed the cleansing game. Micellar water basically contains little balls of cleansing oil molecules called micelles. These tiny balls attract oil, makeup, dirt and other impurities. Since these are tiny oil molecules, they do not dry the skin but instead condition and soothe it. This is what cleanses the skin and leaves it spotless. There are so many different brands and types but the ones that stuck out to me are the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water and Simple Cleansing Micellar Water.
The Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water comes in three different types of colored bottles. I have tried all three and they all seem to work the same for me. These remove makeup so well. Eye makeup doesn’t stand a chance against this bad boy! I use this micellar water when my skin is behaving a little better because although this is so gentle on my skin, the Simple Cleansing Water is even gentler. There is no scent that I detected so that is a good sign for all those out there that have an issue with that. It is also priced very well and can be found at Ulta , CVS, and many other drugstores. Also, I noticed there were no ingredients in this that were animal based. ( Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water $8.99 @ Ulta
The Simple Cleansing Water is exactly what the name says: a simple cleansing water. I don’t know what they use to make this product, but it is awesome!!!! It does remove all makeup, dirt, and impurities very easily. However, it does take more of an effort to take off stubborn eye makeup, but I dont mind that at all because I love all the other aspects of this water. This will not sting or irritate my skin. I usually have some sort of pimple coming, going, or already on my skin and this soothes those areas. This is also found at Ulta, CVS, and other drugstores. The most amazing thing about this is that it also does not contain an animal by-products since even the glycerin is from plants! ( Simple Cleansing Micellar Water $7.99 @ Ulta
I have also mentioned the Pacifica Coconut Micellar Water Cleansing Tonic in my past posts (Brand Review: Pacifica and My Current Skincare Routine). Although that also removes makeup very easily, I use that more as my toner. I believe that it maybe is my third favorite. 🙂 This has a coconut scent which is nice, but for the eyes it will tend to sting slightly sometimes.
