Foundations : Hits and Miss

~~~~~ All these foundations are halaal ~~~~~
A good foundation is the key to obtaining that flawless makeup look.  I, personally, spend the most time perfecting my base because if your base isn’t perfect nothing on top will set right.  I have tried these few foundations.  These are my foundation hits and miss.
Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation
Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless
This foundation is my current go-to.  I can apply a few drops for a natural look or build it up for a night out.  It is extremely affordable being priced at $7.99 at most drugstores.  Usually you can get it with some sort of promotion such as buy one and get the 2nd one 50%.  It is available in so many shades, so you WILL find a perfect match.  My perfect shade is 120 Classic Ivory.  The consistency is a bit runny.  It claims to make pores appear smaller, skin smoother, and less oily.  I will be very honest and say that all these claims are met.  This makes me skin look amazing.  It is also so light that I don’t feel this at all.  Another great things about this formula is that it will not cling to any dry spots, even though it is for oily skin.
I apply this foundation with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for my everyday look.  For a bit more coverage, I like to use my E.L.F. Small Stipple Brush .  This will layer just enough product to give me the coverage without making it feel cakey.  Everything works so well on top of the base.  Highlighters, blush, bronzers, and powders have no problems settling.  Overall, this is a foundation that you can NEVER go wrong with.
Tarte Amazonion Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation
Okay, now with this foundation I have a love-hate relationship.  When I bought this, I loved the creamy texture and the fact that it was full coverage.  I think we all should have one full coverage foundation for weddings, dinners, etc.  I honestly thought this would be that and it is!!! BUTTTTTT…not alone.  I have to add an oil for it to not be so drying on my face.  It is so weird!!!  It is soooo creamy, but when applied to the face it makes your face look as if it’s peeling.  I tried with my sponge and different brushes, but by itself it is HORRIBLE!!!  It was quite expensive, retailing for $39.00, so I had to make it work for me.
I take my tea tree oil and mix two drops of this on the back of my hand along with the foundation.  I then apply strokes of it all over my face.  I, then, use my sponge to blend it in.  This application method works great.  It is 100% full coverage and does last all day and night, without touch-ups.  This is amazing because my skin likes to soak up makeup after a few hours, but with this IT DID NOT!!!
This foundation is easy to work with other products.  Creams and powders sit well on this, however, you have to use setting spray to make sure it all melts together at the end.  This is my love-hate relationship with this very odd foundation.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
I heard so much about this product that I really wanted to see for myself.  I was not disappointed at all.  This is a medium coverage foundation.  It is also available in so many shades.  It retails for $39.00, so it is also more on the expensive side.  However, it will last you a while since a little goes a long way.  The consistency is just perfect, not to runny nor too thick.
This foundation claims to be what its name says by making it seem as if your skin was born this way.  It also says it will blend seamlessly and give off a radiance.  All of this was true!!! It does give off such a beautiful sheen and melts into your skin.  I like to use this for when I want to apply bronzer and gold highlighter because I feel as if those heavier form of makeup apply beautifully on this foundation base.  Golden and bronze hues also complement this foundation for some reason.
E.L.F. Oil Free Flawless Finish Foundation
E.L.F. Flawless Finish Foundation
This DID NOT work for me at all!! It is super affordable, being only $6.00.  However, I tried every way for it to give me any decent results, and it failed.  I do not know what it is about the formula but it seemed like nothing was showing.  The color range also sucked, so nothing matched my skin tone.  The light was too light and the mediums were too dark.  The undertone was neither pink nor yellow.  It was a weird gray undertone.  because of this undertone, my skin seemed so dull and just horrible.
I tried mixing oil in this and it seemed to part the foundation.  The oil would not mix.  It was so weird.  I, first, tried applying it with a sponge and there was no coverage.  So I tried my foundation brushes and the foundation became streaky on my skin.
Overall, this was a total MISS!!
These were my foundation hits and miss.  Have any miracle-foundation you love???
